From August 2nd to 6th, the School of Agricultural Engineering of Guangxi Vocational and Technical College, together with 6 tea experts from 3 partner universities and institutes including Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand, Research Institute for Tea and Cinchona, Indonesia, and Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka, organized the 2022“Silk Road Tea Institute”Summer Online Study Tour for the students from the Double High-levels Plan Tea Cultivation and Tea Processing major of GVTC.

The study tour is rich in content and diverse in form. The content design includes two major modules: International Tea Frontier Topics and English Ability Improvement. More specifically, the International Tea Frontier Topics of study tour mainly include Evolution of the Sri Lanka Tea Industry: An overview, Transformation and Upgrading of Indonesian Tea Cultivation, How to use Technological Innovation to Promote Development of Tea Industry, etc. Through the way, which combines enriched content design and discussion between teachers and students, we can help students better understand the current development situation of the tea industry in Southeast Asia and other countries around the world, deeply learn cutting-edge scientific knowledge in tea related professional fields, improve their professional level, and expand their international vision and cross-cultural communication ability. At the same time, this study tour activity enables students to fully understand the international curriculum form by carrying out international tea culture cooperation research classes, and cultivate high-quality and compound talents with strong learning ability, practical ability, innovation ability and international competitiveness for the future international tea industry and tea economy.

This online study tour activity is one of the achievements of the "Silk Road Tea Institute", an international project of the Double High-levels Plan Tea Cultivation and Tea Processing major of GVTC. It aims to promote the internationalization of the Double High-levels Plan building in GVTC and the development of co-building courses established by “Silk Road Tea Institute”, promote students' awareness of the cutting-edge information of the world's tea development, and improve their personal abilities.
